Women in Construction Week is March 6 - 12, 2022! Founded by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), this week focuses on highlighting, strengthening, and promoting the role of women in the construction industry. We’d like to thank all the incredible women at Clayton Home Building Group with Goodall Homes who build happiness every day for our customers and teams and help make homeownership attainable for many people.
Meet some of the strong, capable women we are proud to call members of the Goodall Homes team.
Laura Bush
Project Manager - Ivey Cottages
Laura may be one of the newer members to the Goodall team, but she brings more than 17 years of construction experience. A recent Middle Tennessee transplant, Laura came to Tennessee from Tampa, Florida because both she and her husband love the area and plan to retire here. Laura graduated from Life Christian University in Florida with a bachelor’s degree in music and now works as a Project Manager for Goodall Homes. Laura says she loves being involved in all parts of the home construction process. Her favorite part is taking an empty lot and building a wonderful home on it along with the relationships she gains throughout the homebuilding process.
Ariel Scharpen
Senior Architecture Coordinator
Ariel brings a wealth of architectural and construction knowledge to the Goodall Homes team. Her construction career spans more than 8 years and she has been a vital part of the Goodall team for the past 2 years, 9 months. Ariel earned a degree in Construction Management from Florida State College and has leveraged that knowledge in her involvement with new plan development, plan change management, and creating lot-specific plans. Ariel says her favorite part about being in construction is that every day brings something different and there’s always more to learn as technology changes.
Hillary Bonham
VP of Land Acquisition
Hillary earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Furman University and a Masters in Real Estate Development from Georgetown University which she has translated into a long and successful career with Goodall Homes. She has been a part of the Goodall team for the past 15 years with a focus on land over the last 6 years. Hillary says that her favorite part about being in construction is creating places that matter.
Jenna Skuza
Division Sales Manager - East Tennessee
Jenna attained her real estate Affiliate Broker license and was a breakout agent closing more than 30 home transactions in a 12-month period during her first year. In 2017, Jenna joined the Goodall Homes team as a New Home Consultant where she aided in opening Goodall’s first Knoxville community, Hayden Hill. In 2018, she was awarded the company’s “NHC of the Year” and by Spring 2019 she had transferred to Chattanooga as Sales Manager. During this time, Jenna had an integral role in opening Goodall’s newest division in Greater Chattanooga and North Georgia by obtaining her Broker License in both Tennessee and Georgia, acting as Principal Broker for the East Tennessee Division’s real estate practice.
Outside of work, Jenna enjoys giving back to the community and was named “Woman of the Year” in 2018 by Knoxville’s local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is a proud mother of three and loves traveling the Caribbean with her husband, billiards, painting, birdwatching, and catching her favorite show, Wheel of Fortune.
