Goodall Homes is currently accepting homesite reservations and building new homes in Groves Park at Oak Ridge.

A news release from Nashville-based builder Goodall Homes gave details about its operations. The company entered the Knoxville market in the fall of 2017 and has since sold more than 100 homes in the broader Knoxville area, although the company is just getting started in Oak Ridge.

Conley Black, sales manager for Goodall Homes Knoxville sales division, said in an interview that five homes are under construction in Oak Ridge, and the company plans to add 14 remaining lots this year, leading to 19 homes total.

He said the first Goodall home in the neighborhood will probably be available in May.

Black explained in his interview with The Oak Ridger that the single-family homes his company is working on adding range from $230,000 to $320,000 in price and 1,600 to around 3,000 square feet, varying in terms of living and garage space.

The release called the homes “energy efficient.”

“This is an extremely important development — homes are in the price ranges that we know families want,” Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce President Parker Hardy said in an email when asked about the development. He said the Goodall Homes work is moving forward a development previously stalled by the nation’s housing market crash “of a few years ago.

“Goodall is an established builder in zip codes that compete with us, and it is a very strong company,” Hardy said. Black and the Goodall Homes website listed houses in Knoxville, Maryville and Hardin Valley.

The release stated residents of Groves Park Commons will enjoy amenities such as a pocket park and pavilion within the neighborhood. The community is zoned for Willow Brook Elementary School, Robertsville Middle School and Oak Ridge High School.

“We are thrilled to be in the Oak Ridge community,” Black said as quoted in the release. “Prior to our arrival in Oak Ridge, the options for a new home in this area were very limited. Our intention with Groves Park Commons was to build new homes for those who work in the area so that they have an opportunity to live close to where they work.”

In the interview, he added that Oak Ridge is a “great town” and he was positive about his interactions with people in Oak Ridge such as the city government and Realtors.
